We’re very proud of what we’ve built, however, due to the unprecedented circumstances surrounding the coronavirus, Pigeon will be shutting down on June 24th, 2020. We are so grateful that you gave Pigeon a try and hope you enjoyed using it as much as we enjoyed building it.

Like all projects within Area 120, Pigeon was an experiment. We’re proud of the work that we accomplished and the community that we built. Unfortunately, given this unprecedented time due to COVID-19 we are no longer able to support Pigeon.
No, we do not have plans to reboot Pigeon in the future.
Area 120 builds, launches, and iterates on dozens of novel ideas that might otherwise not be explored. Most of these experiments will not work long term.
Area 120 is an experimental program within Google where small teams rapidly build new products in an entrepreneurial environment. The projects are not indicative of Google’s broader strategic priorities, but offer Googlers the ability to explore hypotheses and new ideas.
The last day to use Pigeon is June 24th, 2020.
By July 24th, all data associated with Pigeon will be deleted. If you are interested in receiving a copy of your data, please visit the app before June 24th, 2020. To do so, open the Pigeon app (please ensure you have the most recent version) and click on the icon in the top left corner. You will land on a screen that allows you to input your email address. Once you enter your email address and press submit, your data will be emailed to you before July 24th, 2020.
It will be permanently deleted from Google’s servers no later than July 24th, 2020.
